Under general supervision, performs instructional work with minimal decision-making discretion related to implementing a supplemental instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to support and fulfill their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to address individual needs
- Provide supervision of students for the purpose of ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public-school system policies and technology programs
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to the school system
- Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress
- Ability to reflect appropriate responses to situations while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment, or software related to business needs
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums
- Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business
- Ability to work with small groups or one-on-one
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgment
Pay
Flat rate hourly
Schedule
Part-time, 9 months
Reports to Principal. The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require work at other locations as reasonably required.
