About the Role

The Tutor assists students and teachers in meeting stated educational goals and provides direct student behavior management under the supervision of a Teacher. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic classroom setting, crisis intervention, and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and teachers in achieving educational goals
• Provide direct student behavior management
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic classroom environment
• Perform crisis intervention and behavior management

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field highly preferred
• One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred
• Knowledge of effective educational strategies, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, and crisis and behavior management preferred
