Tutor - High School Chemistry

AIM Private Clinic is looking for people who are not just proficient at tutoring, but excellent at it! We work with students in 1-on-1 and small group settings to help them have that 'Aha!' moment. We are focused on Mentorship not just tutoring; this means that developing a trusting relationship with the student and family is just as important as being able to explain a subject in a variety of ways.

About the role

You will be expected to create the content for each session and collaborate with students and their families to meet mentorship needs. In-person work is required in the San Antonio, Texas area.

Responsibilities

• Be reasonably available for mentoring sessions, both in-person and online
• Be prepared for each mentoring session with lesson plans and/or session materials
• Use best efforts to provide tutoring and/or educational services in a workmanlike and quality manner
• Use best efforts to secure a suitable replacement if unable to attend a scheduled mentoring session
• Inform AIM Private Clinic of the occurrence, location, date, and duration of each mentoring session
• Refer immediately to AIM Private Clinic any inquiry from the client or client referral regarding tutoring and/or educational services
• Inform AIM Private Clinic immediately of any client complaint, client dispute, or disagreement
• Attend monthly AIM Private Clinic meetings as designated by administrators
• Maintain confidentiality of AIM Private Clinic and its clients
• Submit documentation as needed
• Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or pursuing one (preferred)
• Two years of content-specific tutoring or teaching experience
• Demonstrates content knowledge for the particular subject
• Exhibits both personable and professional communication skills with both kids and adults
• Has a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel to sessions in the San Antonio area
• Valid background check required to work in a public school setting

Pay

$25–40/hr, depending on experience and teacher certification
