Tutor for Social Sciences (Student Support Services)

Job Summary/Basic Function

Provide one-on-one tutoring for students enrolled in the Student Support Services Program in courses in either the Social Work or Psychology majors. The ability to tutor SW 3600 or Psych 3600 is a priority for this position. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Passed the class/es for which you tutor with a B+ or better
• Patient and a skillful communicator

Physical Activity of this position

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision

Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
