Tutor - Before/After School Tutor Certified Part-time

About the role

This position is responsible for the professional instruction designed to provide academic, social, physical, and skills development for students in specific grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Tennessee professional teacher’s license
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required

Education Equivalency

• Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience
• Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience
• Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included

Responsibilities

• Generate tutoring plans for each student that detail individual goals and suggested enrichment activities for both home and during school
• Assess and document student progress
• Develop and assist students with academic exercises and class activities
• Concentrate efforts with small groups of students and individuals, as necessary
• Compile, prepare, and organize materials and classroom for instruction and other learning activities
• Reinforce all knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher
• Assist teacher with academic instruction and the instruction of daily routines, skills, and concepts as needed
• Provide instructional support and reinforcement to students identified as needing tutoring services
• Utilize effective instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques, and directed teaching methods
• Collect and compile statistical data as needed for accountability and program development
• Collect, organize, and complete information necessary for reports and evaluation
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with the teacher
