Tutor, Athletics Academics

About the role

An academic tutor will be asked and expected to tutor student-athletes in various courses. All tutoring will take place in the McClendon Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and will range based on student-athlete need and tutor availability. Tutoring sessions will include 1-3 student-athletes and are expected to last 45 minutes.

Requirements

• Must have earned a B or higher in the specific course or have been awarded a degree in that area.
• Must be capable of tutoring the courses specified.
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively communicate course material while engaging with our student-athletes in a positive manner.
• Willing and able to communicate and build relationships with a varied group of students.
• Willing and able to gain and maintain working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Willing and able to adhere to standards of conduct for Athletics Academics Tutorial Staff.

Qualifications

• Must attach transcript reflecting minimum grade requirement or degree earned.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to engage with student-athletes positively.
• Knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Adherence to standards of conduct for Athletics Academics Tutorial Staff.

Pay

• Targeted salary $12.00-$15.00/hr based on experience.
