About the role

Tutors at Monte Vista Independent Study School provide academic support to middle school and high school students. The school is part of Newport-Mesa Unified and offers online coursework with weekly instructional meetings and daily on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Provide content support in math, ELA, and other academic areas as needed
• Mentor, motivate, and inspire students to succeed in their coursework
• Help students develop study skills including note-taking, time management, and quiz/test preparation and review

Requirements / Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Current enrollment in or degree from an accredited community college or university
• Experience as a tutor or similar position preferred
