About the role
Being a volunteer tutor at Kara Tutoring is a rewarding experience. You'll help financially disadvantaged students achieve their full potential and attend college by improving their exam scores, which are often necessary for scholarships. Beyond academics, you'll cultivate positive relationships with students to encourage their future success.

Requirements
- Commit to tutoring for at least four months (long-term tutors only).
- Meet the following score/grade requirements for the test(s) you wish to tutor (some flexibility is allowed).
- Have excellent communication skills, including access to Discord and Gmail, and the ability to communicate with the team daily.
- Be a current high school student, taking a gap year between high school and university, or a current undergraduate student. If none of these apply, the qualifying age range is 13–23.
- Submit a paragraph about yourself (writing quality is not the focus; we just want to learn more about you).
Process
Your application will be holistically reviewed. If you advance, the Diversity & Wellness Department will provide an introduction, followed by a rigorous screening. Upon passing, you’ll schedule an introduction call with your Tutoring Manager. We’ll contact you if you reach the next stage.
