About the role
The Turning Technician is responsible for the correct machining of components in a high volume multi-turning machine automotive organization. The role includes precision work producing parts in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run all Turning and Deburring/Wash work-centers to the established quality and productivity goals
- Perform changeovers to the established goals on all family and non-family sized products to include conveyors, feeding systems, turning machines, gages, de-burring machine and dryer bowl
- Identify and correct non-conforming parts
- Identify and replace defective tooling and supplies
- Pack and label finish product
- Afford assistance to other departments as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to handle high volume production
- Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety policies and procedures
- Understand and follow process documentation including process prints and work instructions
- Understand and use metric measurements
- Understand basic math equations
- Meet quality, production and work center goals
- The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience in a machining environment
- Basic Computer skills including ERP Systems
- Solid mechanical knowledge
Skills and Attributes
- Physical Demands Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility
- Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 40 lbs
- Use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Work primarily in a plant environment
