Turning/Deburring Trainee 3rd shift

About the role

The Turning Technician is responsible for the correct machining of components in a high volume multi-turning machine automotive organization. The role includes precision work producing parts in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run all Turning and Deburring/Wash work-centers to the established quality and productivity goals
• Perform changeovers to the established goals on all family and non-family sized products to include conveyors, feeding systems, turning machines, gages, de-burring machine and dryer bowl
• Identify and correct non-conforming parts
• Identify and replace defective tooling and supplies
• Pack and label finish product
• Afford assistance to other departments as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to handle high volume production
• Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety policies and procedures
• Understand and follow process documentation including process prints and work instructions
• Understand and use metric measurements
• Understand basic math equations
• Meet quality, production and work center goals
• The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience in a machining environment
• Basic Computer skills including ERP Systems
• Solid mechanical knowledge

Skills and Attributes

• Physical Demands Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility
• Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 40 lbs
• Use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• Work primarily in a plant environment
