Turf - Small Ag Mechanic Equipment Service and repair

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere and competitive equipment and technology.
• Extensive diagnostic and repair capabilities for 2 stroke and 4 stroke small engines.
• Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
• Provides delivery support as needed, including equipment pick up and delivery.
• Conducts or supports customer clinics.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
• Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and timely submission of information.
• Participates in John Deere University and Dealer Training programs required for skill and knowledge development.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience repairing small gas and diesel engines to be considered.
• Experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manuals and/or specific computer programs and platform procedures on machines of the technician's specialty.
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, turf, or heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred.
• Have current or be able to obtain DOT Medical Certificate.
• Valid driver’s license required, must be 21 years of age with relevant driving experience.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $20-$32 per hour, based on experience.
