About the role
The primary responsibility of the Steam/Gas Mechanic is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closely with Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle, assemble, move and align machinery and equipment using: hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, micrometers, rules, squares, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment
- Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures
- Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies
- Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches
- Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment
- Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed
- Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) years' experience maintaining Gas or Steam Turbines
- Minimum of one (1) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, and generators
- Valid Driver’s License
- Preferred: Degree/Associate Degree in Technical Field or Gas Turbine Systems
- Willing to work 12 hours on Day or Night Shift
- 100% travel is required

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $25.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime.
