Tube Laser Operator

About the role

Motor Controls, Inc. is seeking a Laser Operator to join our team. This position operates and maintains CO2 Engraving and Cutting Lasers and assists other machine operators.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CO2 Engraving and Cutting Lasers
• Assist other machine operators as needed
• Set up lenses, load programs, adjust machine parameters, and fixtures for optimal equipment performance
• Create and edit laser cut files from CAD drawings using software like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator
• Manage and maintain files to ensure consistent revision levels
• Monitor chiller system and process gases, and report reordering levels
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
• Conduct dimensional inspections
• Identify and report defective materials or irregular conditions
• Execute typical machine shop operations to aid in the production and fabrication of plastic parts
• Work autonomously with minimal supervision following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
• Adhere to proper safety protocols and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times
• Maintain a safe, organized, and tidy workplace environment

Requirements

• Experience with TRUMPF TRUSTORE 3030 machine preferred
• Acute attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks
• Accept supervision and assistance in machine set-up as needed
• Ability to perform typical machine shop operations to aid in the production and fabrication of plastic parts
• Basic understanding of machine functions to fulfill assigned tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with CNC laser engraving and cutting machines
• Knowledge of CAD software (Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator)
• Understanding of machine functions and ability to perform typical machine shop operations
