Responsibilities
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, wealth transfer, and tax-efficient planning
- Handle probate and estate administration matters, including filings, asset distribution, and court proceedings
- Aid in trust administration, including fiduciary guidance and compliance matters
- Counsel high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on succession planning
- Communicate effectively with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
- Stay current on developments in Georgia probate law, federal and state tax laws, and estate planning strategies
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Georgia Bar
- 2+ years of experience in trusts and estates law, including estate planning and administration
- Strong understanding of Georgia probate procedures and estate planning techniques
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Client-focused approach with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising high-net-worth clients
- Knowledge of federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
- Portable book of business or established referral relationships
- Familiarity with the Greensboro/Lake Oconee community
