Trust Sales Advisor
About the role
The UMB Private Wealth Trust Sales Advisor (PWTSA) is responsible for building and managing client relationships with Private Wealth’s ultra-high net worth Trust market segment. The PWTSA will grow and service an existing book of clients including many of PWM’s high-profile and more complex client relationships, in particular those requiring complex trust administration. This role will identify opportunities in the ultra-high net worth market segment to develop centers-of-influence (both internal and external) as resources and develop networks with other lines of business to provide financial solutions for clients. The PWTSA will ensure the delivery of the unparalleled customer experience (TUCE) to our most highly-complex and high-value client’s Trust and Investment Management accounts.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and developing high-net-worth client relationships through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Steering administration of client’s wealth and trust accounts by being a trusted partner.
- Leading high performance service delivery to clients by coordinating the team delivering services.
- Maintaining and expanding high-profile client relationships.
- Providing proactive solution-oriented planning for clients and coordination of wealth strategy planning goals and objectives.
- Leading a proactive, high-touch communication plan for all clients.
- Providing wealth management subject matter expertise.
- Participating in and attending meetings and functions as assigned.
- Creating and leading presentations to external and internal COIs on estate planning techniques for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
- Serving as the primary driver of new trust relationships for the market.
- Cooking and assigning the team members of new trust relationships transitioning those accounts to those team members.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have 10+ years’ experience in wealth management for HNW and UHNW clients, or combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
- Have experience in Complex Trust Administration.
- Understand Business Development & COI Development.
- Possess Leadership Skills.
- Demonstrate Excellent Emotional Intelligence.
- Demonstrate Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills.
- Be an Expert on Wealth Management Issues Pertinent to UHNW Families.
- Have Good Relationship Management Skills.
- Have the Ability to Address Client Concerns and Needs.
- Demonstrate Understanding of Investment Strategies Utilized by UHNW Clients.
- Demonstrate Understanding of Tax Challenges of UHNW Clients.
- Show Familiarity with Wealth Management Products and Estate Planning Solutions, Including Trusts and Administration, Member and Manager Managed LLCs and Limited Partnerships, and Asset Management.
- Show Extensive Knowledge of Trust and Bank Products and Services (i.e., Investments, Insurance, Brokerage, Private Banking, Retirement Planning).
- Show Familiarity with Unique Assets of UHNW Clients, Such as Commercial Properties, LLCs, Oil and Gas, Alternative Energy, Ranch and Farm Properties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.

- MBA, CFA, CFP®, CPA, CTFA, or JD.
- Supervisory or Team Leadership Experience.
- 5+ Years in Demonstrated Sales Position.
- Active in Community and Professional Organizations; Considered a Leader in the Community.
- Experience Drafting Complex Estate Plans for Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals.
Benefits
Work Environment: Hybrid. Travel as needed.
Supervision/Management: No direct management responsibilities.
Compensation Range: $110,250.00 - $235,810.00
