Trust & Estate Associate - Atlanta, GA
About the role
Fox Rothschild is seeking an associate with five to seven years of experience to support our Taxation and Wealth Planning Department. This role is ideal for a sophisticated trusts-and-estates practitioner who advises high-net-worth individuals on complex wealth transfer and estate planning matters and supports fiduciaries in trust and estate administration.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in helping clients define, protect, and achieve their long-term planning objectives through thoughtful, customized strategies that reflect evolving tax laws and family dynamics.
- Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees on comprehensive estate and wealth transfer planning strategies.
- Design and implement advanced estate planning techniques, including gift tax planning, charitable giving strategies, irrevocable gifting trusts, and leveraging federal and state tax exemptions and exclusions.
- Draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and ancillary instruments.
- Counsel trustees and executors on the administration of trusts and decedents' estates.
- Guide fiduciaries in understanding and fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.
- Aid clients and fiduciaries in navigating complex intestacy laws and administration procedures.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
- Strong working knowledge of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and client communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
- Client-focused mindset with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
