About the role
In Trust and Safety, we protect users, prevent abuse across and support high quality products, and ensure we are a trusted source of information, interactions, and content. We defend Google's integrity by fighting spam, scams, fraud and abuse, and develop, communicate, and enforce product policies. We work with a variety of teams from Engineering to Legal, Public Policy and Sales to set policies and combat fraud and abuse in a scalable way, often with an eye to finding industry-wide solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex data analyses to deliver actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making and uphold user trust in online advertising.
- Identify fraud trends, collaborate with Abuse teams to catch bad actors, and implement enforcement strategies to address policy violations and questionable business practices.
- Partner with engineering, sales, legal, and policy groups to deploy innovative processes, share adversarial knowledge, and proactively anticipate regulatory trends.
- Enhance processes, identify automation opportunities, and draft clear, detailed documentation/business requirements to align stakeholders and expand the knowledge base.
- Provide periodic on-call coverage and to manage high priority escalations that may occur outside of standard non work hours including weekends/holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
- 2 years of experience in SQL, working with datasets and visualization or Large Language Models (LLMs).
- 2 years of experience managing escalations and cross-functional projects with Engineering, Legal, Sales or Product teams to deploy policy or process changes.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: coding (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java), databases and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MapReduce, Hadoop), statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, SAS).
- Experience with fraud risk management and investigations, internet advertising, or e-commerce.

Pay
US: $116000 - $166000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
