Truss Assembler I
About the role
Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serves major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility in Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and San Antonio. The Truss Assembler I is responsible for assembling truss components, stocking lumber, plates, and other work-related materials, and banding/stacking finished products.
Responsibilities
- Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
- Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
- Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
- Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
- Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns.
- Read shop drawings to understand stacking order when required.
- Maintain production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
- Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
- Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follow all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
- Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
- Maintain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Prior carpentry experience preferred.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
- Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.

1st Shift: 7:00am-5:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays
