Truck Service Advisor

About the role

As a Truck Service Advisor (TSA), you will provide first-rate service to customers through your extensive knowledge of the products we sell and the services we provide. The TSA is primarily responsible for writing work orders, suggestive selling, and handling over-the-counter (OTC) transactions while ensuring that we return every traveler to the road better than they came.

Walk-in interviews are welcome at our Mount Vernon, MO location: 1501 E Mt Vernon Blvd, Mt Vernon, MO 65712.

Responsibilities

• Write, detail, and process (pay out) work orders and OTC transactions
• Properly write up an ETA work order
• Secure purchase orders and prepare/communicate quotes to customers
• Source parts from outside vendors and coordinate delivery
• Prepare end-of-shift drop and shift report
• Understand various payment types
• Use strong suggestive selling skills to help generate revenue and influence in a professional manner while displaying high integrity
• Maintain the safety of both customers and team members

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk and hear
• Occasionally stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend over, crouch, crawl, climb, and use legs repetitively
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• All performed with or without reasonable accommodation

Work Environment

• Exposure to outdoor elements in all seasons
• Occasional exposure to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
• Noise level can be loud at times
• Exposure to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and high-concentrated cleaning solutions

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous cashier and customer service experience; experience in repair or parts shop preferred
• Strong suggestive selling skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays in interior and exterior conditions
• Valid driver’s license
