Responsibilities
Marketing
- Consistently gather prospect data from sources such as competition accounts, Polk registrations, Fleet Seek, existing parts and service customers, ownership accounts, competitive brands, internet/LinkedIn, and networking events/trade shows.
- Maintain a prospect system (CRM, CV360, or Excel) for storing and updating prospect data, including scheduled follow-ups.
- Engage with prospects through face-to-face visits, monthly sales blitzes, telephone calls, emails, and direct mail.
- Participate in market and rate surveys, including collecting and qualifying data, and identifying competition information and market rental rates.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual marketing plans and measure results.
- Participate in customer appreciation, retention, and satisfaction events and programs.
Sales
- Conduct outside sales responsibilities, including scheduled appointments with decision-makers, fact-finding calls, needs assessments, and proposals.
- Prepare a weekly itinerary with an action plan by prospect/customer.
- Provide a weekly summary of activities and pipeline.
- Prepare and present full-service lease proposals in person using approved templates.
- Pursue achievement of assigned full-service lease and commercial rental sales quotas, including:
- Full-service lease and contractual maintenance
- New accounts (number of vehicles: adds, replacements, new business)
- Rental utilization (achievement of desired percent performance)
- Revenue margin sold
- Satisfy OEM (Mack, Isuzu) training requirements (DOS, annual training).
- Prepare forecasts of monthly and annual sold business and communicate with the Leasing Manager.
- Sell and deliver a minimum number of full-service leases per month/annually.
- Write complete sales orders and process paperwork according to dealership policies.
- Stay up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
- Maintain a customer follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Maintain a prospect development system.
- Conduct business ethically and professionally.
- Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's operating features, coverages, and paperwork.
- Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize quality and efficiency in repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
Administrative
- Ensure proper, timely, and accurate completion of:
- Customer credit applications
- Rate sheets as per local policy
- Full-service lease agreements
- Schedule “A” agreements
- Commercial rental agreements
- Secure and ensure the accuracy of all necessary insurance binders provided by customers on a timely basis.
- Assist in the collection of receivables from assigned customers or as requested.
- Communicate with and assist the Leasing Manager regarding:
- Rental reservations/long-term rental commitments sold
- Legalization of new and replaced equipment
- In-service prep of new equipment
- Delivery of new and replaced equipment
- Substitution needs
- Service department needs pertaining to full-service lease/commercial rental customers
- Administrative needs, including billing rates sold and customer information
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in truck rental and leasing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced mathematical skills for pricing, quoting, and selling complex equipment packages.
- Strong sales, communication, and presentation skills.
