About the Role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication, and related supplies in the United States. We operate through eight regions under various banner and trade names, including Rexel, Rexel Automation, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley, and Platt Electric Supply. This role is based in New Brunswick, NJ, as part of the Warshauer Electric Supply team.

Pay will be dependent on experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to and from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). You will ensure deliveries are prepared efficiently, materials are correct, and free of damage.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete a daily inspection report.
  • Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of repair or service needs.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load or unload vehicle, ensuring all material for each order is correct (quantity and type) and free of damage before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed at delivery, including signed delivery receipts, packing lists, and branch/warehouse manifests.
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities, and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Senior Truck Drivers will train and mentor entry-level Truck Drivers.
  • Perform other branch duties as required, including counter sales, order preparation, receiving, stocking, staging, shipping, and maintaining branch equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must attend company driver training if no prior experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
  • Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
  • Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
  • Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.

Skills

  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not exceeding 26,000 GVW.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Pay

For the state of New Jersey, the pay range is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
