Truck Driver- TIR

About the role

ThyssenKrupp Materials, NA is seeking a Local Truck Driver for Smithfield, RI. This position involves transporting materials to dedicated customer accounts, Monday through Friday with weekends off.

Responsibilities

• Verify that correct items are loaded for delivery.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure load is properly fastened down and is secure.
• Aid in loading and unloading of trucks.
• Ensure truck is properly secured and not overweight.
• Deliver product and proper paperwork to customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Clean up any debris caused by loading/unloading of truck.
• Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
• Collect any COD money owed and ensure it is given to the proper personnel upon return to the plant.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems on returned proof of delivery sheets (load sheet).

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• One-year minimum verifiable CDL-A driving experience
• Excellent driving record
• Flat-bed truck driving experience
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• High school diploma or GED

Pay

$24.90 - $33.69 per hour
