Truck Driver - Pineville, LA (CDL) $2500 Sign On

About the role

Akema is seeking a safety-focused CDL-A Truck Driver to transport light mercaptans (odorants used in natural gas and propane) to customer locations across North America. This role is ideal for experienced drivers who enjoy working independently, traveling extensively, and operating in a safety-critical petrochemical environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport hazardous materials using bulk trucks and DOT-approved containers
• Complete long-haul deliveries throughout North America
• Load, unload, and connect delivery equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Cook with customers to schedule and complete deliveries
• Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and training records

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A License (Louisiana preferred)
• Hazmat Endorsement Required
• 1+ year of petrochemical, fuel, chemical, or industrial transportation experience
• Long-distance/OTR driving experience
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service
