Truck Driver Part Time
Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. – a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc. – provides complex, large-scale electrical construction services throughout the western United States. As a full-service electrical provider, we offer industry-leading electrical transmission, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy services through our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) construction division.
About the role
This CDL Class A driving position transports materials and equipment to project locations that may cross state lines and require overnight stays. A valid CDL Class A license and the ability to be insured under Company policy are required.
Responsibilities
- Transport tools and materials to various project locations
- Overnight stays may be required depending on delivery location
- Load or unload truck and/or trailers; may be assisted by a helper
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of 'over-the-road' driving experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in hauling heavy machinery desired
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to drive across state lines in compliance with all applicable CDL regulations
- Valid CDL Class A Driver's License
- Experience driving a manual transmission
- Ability to operate vehicles with air brakes
- Ability to operate a stake bed with a lift gate
- Heavy lifting is required
Benefits
Eligibility begins on the first day of the benefit month corresponding to the month in which you first accumulate at least 125 credited hours. Benefits overview.
Pay
$35/hour, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith; MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Schedule
This position is planned for approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, including background check and drug testing. Temporary or part-time positions are not eligible for company benefits or holiday pay.
