Job Summary
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating off-highway haul trucks (off-road) to transport crushed stone, sand and gravel, and other materials within quarries, pits, yards, and/or plants. The Off-Road Haul Truck Driver will operate a rigid frame and/or articulated haul trucks of varying sizes, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials while adhering to all Vulcan and government rules and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Operate off-road haul trucks to transport material within Vulcan facilities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of truck controls and functions, potentially including air brakes, emergency procedures, and safe operating practices.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on the truck, such as checking fluid levels, functionality and tire pressure.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance.

- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, coordinating with other operators and ground personnel.
- Technical Expertise: Solid mechanical understanding of equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction and report them to the maintenance team.
