Pay

• $968 Weekly Average
• Hourly Pay: $24.21 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 40 - 45 hours per week
• Paid Training

Schedule

• 7 Day Operation with 2 days off
• Start Time: 8:30 AM

About the role

• Deliver solo within a 200 air mile radius of Rochester, NY
• Local route with daily home return
• Tractor Type: Straight Truck
• Trailer Type: Straight Truck 26'
• Equipment: Manual Pallet Jack, Lift Gates & Rolling Carts
• Freight: Touch – Donated Goods
• Operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Verifiable driving experience in like equipment:
  • 6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Note: Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query. Some positions may require additional screening such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a vehicle within regulations and compliance with safety standards
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
• Perform other tasks as assigned
