About the role

Local, home-daily Class A CDL truck-driving position with afternoon or evening dispatch (Monday through Friday). You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing vehicles designed for comfort, equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras for safety.

Responsibilities

• Make local deliveries to stores, including locations in New York City
• Average 1 to 4 stops per route
• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Dispatch: 12 PM to 8 PM
• Home daily

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Must comply with all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• English language proficiency (required by federal law, 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Must complete Penske employment application, pass a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Must accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting required
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area
