Truck Driver, Heavy

Amentum is seeking a Heavy Truck Driver for North of Las Vegas, NV to drive various types of trucks, such as tractor trailer combinations to transport various loads, which may include hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of heavy equipment and forklifts and load/unload cargo.
• Knowledgeable of cargo securement rules to ensure every load is properly secured before transport.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Refuel vehicles as required.
• Perform general housekeeping and grounds maintenance of vehicle parking areas.
• Travel as required by company.
• Perform all duties with a focus on safety.
• Other related duties as assigned by the Lead Technician or requested.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience transporting heavy loads on multiple types of trailers with a safe driving record and history.
• Load and unload trailers with straps, chains, and hooks.
• Perform vehicle inspections, safely climb in and out of tractor cab, and maintain vehicle logs.
• Prompt daily attendance and forklift experience preferred.
• Valid Class “A” CDL Driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement.
• Must qualify for and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance and work location access.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government security clearance.

Pay

$35.76 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
