About the role
RiverBend Materials, a CRH company, is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to join our team in Eugene, Oregon. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction of our communities while working with a dynamic and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle in a clean and orderly condition inside and out.
- Operate truck in a safe and efficient manner by utilizing it within its designed parameters to deliver materials to construction and customer sites while following applicable laws.
- Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle and investigate any abnormalities.
- Perform operator maintenance and minor field repairs (i.e. mud flaps and mirror adjustments).
- Promptly detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to shop personnel.
- Ability to communicate efficiently with dispatch and follow their instructions.
- Check delivery tickets for special instructions and complete prior to arriving on the job.
- When loading, ensure proper materials are loaded in a safe manner.
- Obtain proper signatures as required.
- Ensure proper entry of on-the-job information on customer delivery invoices.
- Comfortably operate trucks on paved and unpaved surfaces, including rough or uneven off-road conditions.
- Move material as necessary in the performance of the job or as directed.
- Maintain operator logs, time cards, mileage sheets, vehicle repair sheets, and records in accordance with company policy and departmental transportation regulations.
- Use computer for Zonar and Trackit.
- Before loading, make sure tailgate is latched. Keep sideboards, trailer tongues and back of truck free of all materials.
- Be comfortable with driving on and off paved roads.
- May assist members of the work force in other areas of production, including shoveling materials on grade and pave projects, running plant loader, operating roller, driving water truck, etc.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Regular and timely attendance.

Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL and current interstate DOT medical card.
- Ability to operate manual transmission.
- Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
- Demonstrates the ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends/holidays as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Pay
DOE with potential for overtime.
Schedule
Primarily work 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. Will also be required to work more hours, per DOT regulations, and up to 6 days per week as needed during the busy construction season.
