Essential Functions

  • Accurately pulling orders for delivery in a timely and safe manner.
  • Properly and efficiently unloading cargo/trucks and checks with Supervisor upon completion for next delivery instruction/information.
  • Properly and efficiently completing Pre/Post Vehicle Inspections on daily basis.
  • Maintaining truck logs according to company policy and Federal/State regulations.
  • Fueling, washing and maintaining vehicles as needed/required per Company policy.
  • Maintaining contact with the Warehouse Manager as needed/required.
  • Safely and accurately operating warehouse equipment at all times to load, unload, or disperse cargo and/or materials.
  • Physically inspecting items for damage as needed and/or requested by the customer.
  • Inspecting shipments/equipment as needed.
  • Contacting his/her supervisor in the event a customer wants to make changes to a delivery.
  • Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
  • Keep commercial driver license up to date.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
  • May plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

Requirements

  • Class B Drivers License
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Must provide a medical certificate.
  • Must not have "Automatic Transmission Restriction" on license.
  • This position requires the ability to drive a manual truck.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
  • Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Travel

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day.
