Truck Driver Class A

Responsibilities

• Transport solid waste and recyclable/diverted materials from transfer stations to landfill sites and regional end markets.
• Secure loads in compliance with DOT safety regulations, including manually deploying, rolling, and securing tarps during loading and unloading.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, documenting and reporting any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Fuel, grease, and clean trucks daily to support safe and efficient operations.
• Ensure waste loads are properly secured and comply with weight regulations and safety standards.
• Complete daily driver logs, trip sheets, scale tickets, inspection forms, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow established haul schedules, assigned routes, weight limits, and all traffic laws.
• Work safely in a variety of weather and site conditions, including wind, dust, mud, snow, and uneven landfill terrain.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license by date of hire required.
• Possession of, and ability to maintain a class 'A' commercial driver's license (CDL) without the following restrictions: ‘L' – No Air Brake; ‘O' – No Tractor/Trailer; ‘E' – No Manual Transmission; ‘Z' – No Full Air Brake Equipped CMV; Tanker Endorsement (N) by date of hire required.
• Possession of a tanker endorsement (N) by date of hire required.
• Two (2) years of experience in commercial, waste hauling, or similar heavy vehicle driving required.
