Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Wauseon, OH — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay

  • Weekly pay: $1700 or more
  • Hourly pay: $29.00 per hour (travel time)
  • Hourly pay: $25.50 per hour (standard)
  • Weekly guarantee: $1200
  • Hours per week: 50 - 60
  • Mileage reimbursement: $0.70 after 50 miles
  • Paid training

Schedule

  • Varies (PM/AM dispatch)

About the Role

  • Deliver solo to varying locations
  • Route: OTR (Over-the-Road)
  • Tractor types: Sleeper, Day Cabs, and 26' Straight Trucks
  • Trailer types: Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed (48', 53’)
  • Equipment: Electric and Manual Pallet Jack (Ryder provides training)
  • Freight: Touch – varies (cannot accommodate an automatic restriction)
  • Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance
  • Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide
  • Covers multiple Ryder accounts

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
  • Some positions may require additional screening, including employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
