Truck Driver - CDL Class A OTR - Penske Logistics

About the role

Line-haul route from Rutherford, NJ, to Meadow View, VA, and back. Loading and unloading required. Regional schedule with 2 to 3 layovers weekly and 6:00 AM dispatch time. Rotating 4 to 6-day work week with weekly home time.

Responsibilities

• Operate late-model, Penske-maintained Class A tractor-trailers on assigned regional route
• Load and unload freight
• Represent client brands while driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms
• Adhere to all federal, state, and agency safety regulations
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years (or 2 years in the last 5 years)
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• English language proficiency (required by 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Regular, predictable full attendance is essential
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to touch, handle, and feel
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Frequent and safe entry/exit of vehicle and rear cargo area
