About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL Truck Driver in Charlotte, NC. Drivers on this account earn $1,050 or more weekly with hourly pay of $26.27 and guaranteed 40 hours per week. Paid training is available. Schedule is Monday – Friday with a 5:30 AM start time.

Route & Equipment

• Deliver solo to NC & SC
• Local home daily
• 26' straight truck tractor type
• Equipment includes pallet jack and lift gate
• Freight: touch – HVAC equipment
• Hazmat endorsement required
• Well-maintained, safe trucks 36 months or newer
• 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
