About the role
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Appleton, WI (54914) with additional work locations in Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay. This is a regular full‑time OTR solo position delivering to WI, MN, North & South Dakota, KS, IA, MO, MI, OH, KY, NE, IL, and IN. You’ll operate a sleeper tractor pulling dry van, flatbed, reefer, straight truck, or Conestoga trailers, using a pallet jack as needed. Freight is a mix of touch and no‑touch. Ryder provides paid training on all required equipment. Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations.

Schedule
- Schedule varies; typical start time 8:00 AM

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements
- Verifiable Class A tractor‑trailer (or comparable) experience:
- 9 months within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years within the past 5 years, OR
- 5 years within the past 10 years
- Pass Ryder drug test
- Pass Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass DOT physical
- Pass Ryder road test
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Some positions may require additional screening: employment/education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer‑specific badging or background requirements
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading when required by the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
