Truck Driver CDL A Solo Floater

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Erlanger, KY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay

• Weekly pay: $1,700 (top earners can make $1,800+ per week)
• Daily pay: $340.00 per day
• While working other accounts: $400–$500 per day
• Sign-on bonus: $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days

Schedule

• 7-day operation with 2 days off per week
• Start time: AM or PM dispatch
• Home daily with occasional overnight stays

About the Role

• Deliver solo to IL, IA, MI, IN, OH, TN, and WV
• Route: Local, primarily home daily
• Tractor type: Sleeper, day cab, or yard truck as needed
• Trailer type: Bulk tanker, flatbed, and dry van (48' or 53')
• Ryder provides training on all required equipment
• Freight: Touch varies; load securement required
• Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
• Operate well-maintained trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
• Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, and customer-specific badging or background requirements

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
