Truck Driver CDL A Regional Solo

About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Greensboro, GA for a regional solo driving position. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations. Routes cover GA, FL, AL, NC, SC, TN, and VA with 1-3 nights out per week. Tractor type is sleeper, and trailer type is 48' flatbed. Equipment includes manual and electric pallet jacks, and Ryder provides training on all necessary equipment. Freight involves load securement, including tarping and strapping.

Pay

• Weekly Average: $1,577
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.72 per mile (1,970 miles per week)
• Solo Stops Pay: $32.50 per stop (3 stops per week)
• Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per layover (1-3 nights per week)

Schedule

• Days: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: 3:00 AM - 5:00 AM

Paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
