Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Berea, OH — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay

  • $1,700 average weekly pay
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus ($1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days)
  • Solo Miles Pay: $0.63 per mile with 1,000–2,300 miles per week
  • Solo Stops Pay: $40.00 per stop with 1–14 stops per week
  • Per Diem Pay: $40.00 per night with 2–4 nights per week
  • Paid training

Schedule

  • 7-day operation, home for 34-hour reset
  • Start time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Route & Equipment

  • Deliver solo from IA to East Coast
  • Local/regional route
  • Tractor: Sleeper
  • Trailer: Dry Van 53’
  • Equipment: Electric Pallet Jack
  • Ryder provides training on all required equipment
  • Freight: Tailgate deliveries (windows and sunrooms)
  • Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance
  • Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Note: Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading freight if required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
