About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a local, home-daily route delivering auto parts (no-touch freight) solo to Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. You’ll operate a day-cab tractor pulling a 53’ dry van. Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at 800+ nationwide locations. Strong backing skills are required. Weekly pay with a guaranteed minimum, quarterly safety bonuses, and a first-year shutdown bonus.

Pay

  • Weekly guarantee: $1,355 per week (earn $1,355 or more weekly)
  • Paid weekly
  • Shutdown bonus: $2,000 in your first year
  • Safety bonus: up to $250 per quarter (if applicable)
  • Referral bonus: up to $1,500 per hired driver (unlimited)

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday
  • Must be open to AM or PM start times due to bid system
  • Local route, home daily

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass Ryder drug test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
