About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Clarksville, TN for local routes delivering auto parts with no-touch freight. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe day-cab tractors (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations.

Deliver solo to IN, KY, OH, and MS with daily home time. Strong backing skills are required.

Pay

  • Weekly Guarantee: $1,280 per week
  • Solo Miles Pay: $0.47 per mile with 2,500 miles per week
  • Solo Stops Pay: $12.00 per stop (5–15 stops per week)
  • Drop and Hook Pay: $6.00 per drop/hook
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days
  • Shutdown Bonus: $2,000 within the first year
  • Safety Bonus: $250 per quarter (if applicable)

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday
  • Start time: AM or PM based on bid system
  • Home daily

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by the customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
