Truck Driver CDL A No Experience Required

We have a Class A Driver TEAMS opening in Corbin, KY for recent CDL graduates. Candidates with 6–9 months of experience may ask about our Extended Driver Development Program.

About the role

Ryder’s Driver Development Program offers proficiency-based training with experienced facilitators. Drivers receive 8 weeks of paid training focusing on backing, close-quarter maneuvers, short and longer runs, and hands-on experience from industry-leading instructors.

Pay

• Weekly Minimum Guarantee during training: $1,050 per week
• Weekly Minimum Guarantee after training: $1,715 per week
• Team Miles Pay: $0.335 per mile with 5,000 miles per week
• Team Stops Pay: $7.00 per stop with 4–8 stops per day
• Drop and Hook Pay: $6.00 per drop/hook

Schedule

• Training schedule: Monday–Saturday or Sunday–Friday
• Start time: Must be open to bid system for routes based on seniority

Requirements

• 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and Motor Vehicle Registration check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
• Perform other duties as assigned
