Pay
- Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour base pay plus additional $1 for every 3 certifications/endorsements
- Overtime paid after 40 hours
- Per diem pay: $50.00 per night
- Paid travel and overnights (Ryder-booked hotel or sleeper)
- Tenure bonus: $1000 each year you are with the company from Nov. 1 to Oct. 31
Schedule
- Monday - Friday (must be flexible)
- 40+ hours per week

About the Role
- Deliver solo to TX, OK, AR, MA, LA, and AL
- Tractor type: Day cab and sleeper; possibility of 26' straight truck
- Trailer type: 48' - 53' flatbed, dry van, reefer, Conestoga, curtainside, and container
- Freight: Mix of touch/no-touch; product varies by account
- Equipment: Manual pallet jack, rollers, lift gate, and Moffett
- Load securement: Strapping, tarping, and chaining
- Ryder provides training on all equipment and reimburses cost for obtaining endorsements
- Operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Class A CDL with verifiable tractor-trailer experience:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- 1 year flatbed experience required
- Hazmat endorsements preferred
- Must have Real ID or passport (only one required to fly)
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
