About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Groveport, OH. Deliver solo to Florida and locations throughout the Eastern US, away from home up to 85% of the time. Tractor type is a mixture of sleeper tractors with 53‑ft trailers and 26‑ft straight trucks. Equipment includes manual pallet jack and lift gate; freight is touch/driver‑assist HVAC. Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful. Drivers operate well‑maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Autonomy on the road with support behind the scenes — Ryder purchases owner‑operator trucks while providing support during transition and throughout your career. Referral program offers unlimited bonuses up to $1,500 per hired driver.

Location: Groveport, OH 43125 (additional work locations: Columbus, Obetz, West Jefferson, Lockbourne, Mt. Sterling). Full‑time, regular employment.

Pay

• $1,340 weekly guarantee
• Hourly pay: $25.50 per hour
• Overtime paid after 40 hours
• Hours per week: 40+ hours
• Per diem pay: $50.00 per night
• Overnights for route in Ryder‑booked hotel
• Loyalty bonus: $1,000 at 6 months and $1,000 at 1 year
• Paid training

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Start time: around 6:00 AM

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• 1 year dry van experience required
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities
