About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Appleton, WI. This is a solo regional/OTR position delivering to WI, MN, North & South Dakota, KS, IA, MO, MI, OH, KY, NE, IL, and IN. You'll operate a sleeper tractor pulling dry van and Conestoga trailers, with pallet jack equipment provided. Freight involves touch — pallet and piece unloading. Ryder provides paid training on all equipment. Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations. This is a regular full-time position.

Pay

• Weekly pay — drivers on this account earn $2,020 or more per week
• Solo miles: $0.60 per mile with 1,800+ miles per week
• Solo stops: $24.00 per stop with 20+ stops per week
• Per diem: $51.50 per night with 4 nights per week
• Sign-on bonus: $3,000 ($1,500 at 30 days, $1,500 at 90 days)

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass Ryder drug test
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
• Some positions may require additional screening: employment/education verification, MVR check, road test, and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
