About the Role
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in York, PA, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This solo driving position covers the East Coast, Mid Atlantic, and occasional NYC routes.
Pay
$1,650–$1,780 or more per week, with the following pay structure:
- Solo Miles Pay: $0.65 per mile (1,100–2,000 miles per week)
- Solo Stops Pay: $15.68 per stop (25–30 stops per week)
- Per Diem Pay: $52.18 per night (4 nights per week)
- Touch Freight Pay: $0.1785 per piece (2,000+ tire pieces per week)
- $3,000 Sign-On Bonus: Paid out ½ at 30 days and ½ at 90 days
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, home weekends
- 50+ hours per week
- Paid training provided
Equipment
- Tractor Type: Sleeper with refrigerators and inverters
- Trailer Type: Primarily Dry Van; occasional Reefer, Flatbed (28’, 48’, 53’)
- Ryder provides training on all equipment
- Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Note: Some positions require additional screening, including employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, and customer-specific badging or background requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
