Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Nashville, TN — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

About the role

Deliver solo to TN, KY, IN, MS, AL, and AR on a local route with daily home time. Operate a day-cab tractor with a 53’ dry van trailer, hauling no-touch auto parts. Drivers earn a weekly guarantee of $1,330 or more, with additional pay structures:

  • Solo Miles Pay: $0.47 per mile (2,500 miles per week)
  • Stops Pay: $12.00 per stop (5–15 stops per week)
  • Drop and Hook Pay: $6.00 per drop/hook
  • Shutdown Bonus: $2,000 paid in two installments during your first year

Schedule options: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday. Start times vary (AM or PM) due to the bid system. Ryder provides well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Hold a Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements for the position
  • Verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle experience:
    • 9 months within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by the customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
