About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a local shuttle route in Rainbow City, AL. This is a solo driving position with daily home time, delivering auto parts in Tennessee and Alabama using a day cab tractor and 53' dry van trailer with swing doors. No-touch drop-and-hook freight. Trucks are 36 months or newer, equipped with 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel at over 800 nationwide maintenance facilities.

Ryder provides paid training on all necessary equipment. Drivers on this account earn $1,319 or more weekly, with daily pay of $263.90 for 50+ hours per week.

• Monday – Friday
• Start time: 12 AM (Midnight)
• Home daily

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
