Truck Driver, CDL A
Job Responsibilities
- Perform pre and post trip inspection of vehicle
- Utilize safe and effective loading and handling procedures
- Deliver and unload products
- Review paperwork for completeness and accuracy
- Check orders for correct number of boxes, correct addresses, and support documentation
- Complete timecards and enter trip data into on-board computer
- Complete paper logs if necessary
- Comply with FMCSA regulations
- Operate vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines
- Minimize accidents, traffic violations, and complaints from the public
- Report any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department
- Keep vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure
- Report any defects promptly using DCVR form
- Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork
- Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate
- Ensure customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order
- Communicate professionally with customers and vendors
Required Qualifications
- Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration
- Valid state specific Commercial Driver’s License (Class A and CDL Drivers require respective licensing)
- Minimum of 12 months of tractor trailer driving experience
- Ability to pass a written exam and road test
- Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates
- Understanding of UNFI’s safety standards
- Good judgment is required for this position

Compensation
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
