Summary

The Truck Driver (Box Truck or Flatbed) is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of windows, doors, IGU's or materials to customer locations, construction sites and/or warehouses. This position ensures products are delivered damage-free while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with all DOT and company safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company box trucks and flatbed trucks.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Load, secure, transport, and deliver windows, doors, and materials.
  • Verify delivery orders, quantities, and customer documentation.
  • Ensure products are properly strapped, blocked, and secured during transit.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials at customer locations and job sites.
  • Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery.
  • Follow delivery schedules and coordinate route changes with dispatch.
  • Maintain required delivery logs, inspection reports, and driver records.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
  • Inspect products for damage before loading and upon delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel, installers, and management.
  • Report vehicle maintenance concerns, accidents, delays, or damaged products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
  • Other duties as need arises.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience operating box trucks, flatbed trucks, or commercial delivery vehicles.
  • Knowledge of load securement and transportation safety practices.
  • Ability to read delivery manifests, shipping documents, and route information.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspections preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily delivery schedules.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and strong safety mindset.

Training & Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
