As a provider of comprehensive, continuous, and real-time roadway intelligence, Rekor leverages AI, machine learning, and holistic data to support the intelligent infrastructure essential for smart mobility. We seek a professional with a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to calibrate Weight in Motion (WIM) sites across various Interstate locations and secondary roadways, spanning multiple states. The position involves significant travel, with an expectation of being on the road approximately 80% of the time. Flexibility is paramount, as the role includes the potential need to drive during night hours and perform occasional heavy lifting, potentially up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a calibration truck safely to and from assigned testing locations.
  • Drive the vehicle across weigh-in-motion systems at specified speeds and weights to perform calibration and accuracy testing.
  • Follow established procedures for WIM system testing and data collection.
  • Assist technicians with equipment setup, testing, and calibration activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of driving runs, vehicle weights, test results, and site activities.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Comply with all DOT, company, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Travel to different job sites as required, including overnight or extended travel when necessary.
  • Maintain a professional attitude when working with customers, technicians, and project personnel.
  • Perform routine light maintenance and cleaning of the truck to ensure its optimal performance and longevity.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Clean driving record and safe driving history.
  • Commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely maneuver a heavy truck in controlled testing environments.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to safety, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 80% of the time).

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with weigh-in-motion systems, scale calibration, transportation equipment, or field testing is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and assist with basic field activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors and occasionally lift or handle equipment and materials (up to 60 lbs).
