About the Role

The Truck Driver will operate company-owned or leased vehicles to transport a variety of incoming and outbound materials and vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Observe loading and unloading of materials, transport, and deliver products.
  • Secure loads for safe transport using straps, chains, binders, load locks, and other securement means.
  • Complete electronic drive logs and load documentation accurately.
  • Meet DOT standards for physical exams, drug tests, and commercial driver’s licenses, as well as company standards.
  • Drive up to 11-hour shifts and up to 70 hours per week.
  • Become certified to operate JLG Aerial Work Platforms and Telehandlers, including proficiency in loading and unloading units from truck trailers.
  • Obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®), required for access to secure maritime facilities and vessels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform DOT-required safety inspections, including getting under tractors and trailers.
  • Climb in and out of commercial vehicles and trailers (4 feet above ground) multiple times daily.
  • Mount snow chains on tires when necessary.
  • Unload cargo using manual/electrical floor jacks, hand dollies, rollers, aerial work platforms, or telehandler equipment.
  • Operate aerial work platforms or telehandler equipment for loading purposes.

Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screen, DOT physical, and background test.
  • Must pass a Post Offer/Pre-Placement Test based on customer requirements.
  • Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license (Class A) and understand brake operations.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lb. containers, tarps, and cargo unassisted, including overhead, repeatedly, and for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and handling.
  • Must be able to repeatedly bend at the waist, neck, wrist, and shoulder; twist and rotate hands, elbows, and forearms.
  • Must be able to operate foot pedals and grasp/grip repeatedly.
  • Must be able to climb to heights of 4 to 10 feet and perform accelerated physical activity in awkward positions.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, moderate noise, and vehicle vibration.
